Summery of Vacancy:

(1) Scale of Pay with GP : For ALP and all other Technician Gr.III Categories – Rs. 5,200 – 20,200 (GP Rs. 1,900).

(2) Age (as on 01.07.2014) : 18 – 30 years (please refers para 2 for age relaxations). (3) Exam Fee (for Male UR/OBC candidates only) : For ALP and all other Technician Gr.III Categories – Rs. 40/- (4) Stages of Exam : (i) For ALP- Single Stage Written Examination followed by Aptitude test & Verification of Original Documents (ii) For Technicians-Single Stage Written Examination followed by Verification of Original Documents (5) Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of course completed Act Apprenticeship /ITI except for the post of ALP, Technician-Gr.III Signal and Tele communication and Wireless Maintainer.

 

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS (A) CANDIDATES SHOULD NOTE THAT :- A common examination will be held for the posts of ALP and Technician categories (ii) Their admission to the written examination will be purely provisional subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. (iii) Mere issue of call letter to candidates will NOT imply that their candidature has been finally cleared by the RRB. (iv) RRBs conduct verification of eligibility conditions, with references to original documents, only after candidates, have qualified in all the examination. RRBs may reject the applications of candidates at any stage of recruitment process in case the candidates at any stage of recruitment process in case the candidates are not fulfilling the requisite criteria, and if appointed, such candidates are liable to be removed from service summarily. Candidates should fill up the Application Form in their own handwriting and must sign as well as put their left thumb impression at the prescribed place. Applications should be filled either in English or in Hindi. Candidates are required to sign in English or in Hindi in the prescribed place provided in the Application Form. Signatures on Application Form, Answer Sheet, Question Booklet and other places should be identical and must be in running hand end not in block/capital or disjointed letters. Signatures in different style or language, at the time of application, written examination and document verification, may result in cancellation of candidature. Candidates should be give their order of preference of Category of Post(s) listed under the RRB for which He/She has applied for, in Option column given as item 1 in the Application Form. While applying, candidates should ensure that they posses the requisite education qualification and Medical Standards (Refer Para.8) for the post(s) (b) RRBs will allot the post to the selected candidates as per the preference of the candidates subject to merit and vacancy position. (c) Similarly candidates can prefer the Railway/Unit through column 2 of the Application Form. RRBs will consider the preferred Railway/Unit of the candidates to the extent possible subject to merit and Vacancy position. However, RRBs reserve to allot even non-preferred Post and/or Railway/Unit subject to merit and vacancy position. Date of examination will also be published in local dailies by participating RRBs. The result will be published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar. These will also be uploaded in the website of the Railway Recruitment Boards concerned. Call letters for written examination are sent to candidates by business post. The candidates whose application are rejected are also intimated through post along with the reason/s for rejection. Selection by RRB does not confer upon candidates any right of appointment in the Railways. The function of the RRB is to recommend names of suitable candidates to the Chief Personnel Officer of the Zonal Railway/Production Unit concerned, who in turn issues the offer of appointment letter, subject to availability of vacancies and candidates being found medically fit and satisfying all eligibility criteria.

HOW TO APPLY : The Application Form as per Annexure 1 should be filled up by the candidate in his/her own handwriting, with blue or black ball point pen (not in pencil, fountain pen or gel pen) dated and signed. Only international numbers i.e. 1,2, 3 etc., should be used. The Application Form should be filled up in English or in Hindi only, strictly observing all the instruction given in this Centralized Employment Notice. Candidates should affix their normal signature in English or Hindi in the Application Form. Application signed in capital letters/spaced out letters will be treated as invalid.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS: Selection is made strictly as per merit, on the basic of written examination. The standard of questions for the written examinations will be generally in conformity with the education standards and/or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the posts. The Questions will be objective type with multiple choice and are likely to include questions pertaining to General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and reasoning, General Science and Technical Ability. The question paper will be in English, Hindi Urdu and local languages as indicated in para 15 Duration of the examination will be 90 minutes with approximately 100 to 120 questions. There shall be negative marking in written examination and marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer @1/3 of the marks allotted for each question. Candidates who have opted for ALP only / ALP & Technician, will be shortlisted as per their performance in the written examination and called for Aptitude test. Such shortlisted candidates should produce the vision certificate (Annexure-6) as per the prescribed format during Aptitude test, failing which they will not be permitted for Aptitude test. Based on the performance of candidates in the written examination (For Technician), Based on the performance of candidates in the written examination and Aptitude Test (ALP), candidates equal to the number of vacancies are called for document verification candidates will have to produce their original certificates. No additional time will be given and the candidature of the candidates not producing their original certificates on the date of verifications is liable to be forfeited. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates.

 

ONLINE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION: Candidates have the option of filling up their application ON-LINE, wherever such facility is provided by RRBs. For this, they should visit the website of the RRB concerned and fill up their detailed Bio-Data in the Application Form and upload scanned SC/ST Community Certificate if applicable, on the website.
